2011 World Summer Games in Athens


Taking place from 25th June to 4th July 2011, the 13th Special Olympics World Summer Games will be the world’s largest sporting event for athletes with intellectual disabilities, drawing 7,000 athletes from more than 180 countries around the world, 3,000 coaches and officials, 25,000 volunteers, 40,000 family members as well as thousands of spectators.
