Zolotas Jewellers designed the torch by combining two classical elements of the Greek civilisation, the meander and the ionic column order for the XIII Special Olympics World Summer Games ATHENS 2011.
The ancient Greek pattern named Meander is a symbol of victory and unity, infinity and eternal life but also according to Greek mythology it is an emblem of great achievement.
With this precious symbol the sacred flame will cross the five continents sending a message of peace, reconciliation and hope to the world.
This jewellery torch has a Greek Spirit and a contemporary cut.
The torch was built in aluminium and was finished in two colours gold for the main element and dark grey for the handle, it weighs 1,6 kilos and measures 50cm.
The Torches of the Special Olympics World Summer Games ATHENS 2011 will be numbered and will be available for sale exclusively from the Zolotas sales network
